The Best Games Like Wordle: Word Master, Lewdle, Absurdle, Crosswordle, And More…

Looking for more games like Wordle? The free daily word puzzle is immensely popular and for many of us it’s become a part of our daily routine. The only problem with Wordle is you can only play it once a day… which may leave you hunting for other games with a similar vibe.

The Best Games Like Wordle

Word Master

This Wordle remake gives you six tries to guess a five-letter word but with a slight tweak. Word Master uses gray, yellow and green blocks in the same way as the original. How is it different from Wordle? Word Master offers unlimited games so you don’t have to wait 24 hours.

Hello Wordl

Hello Wordl — another Wordle remake — gives you six tries to guess a word and uses the same colored blocks to track your progress. In addition to unlimited games, Hello Wordl also lets you change the number of letters in the word you’re guessing. Guess a four-letter word or use the in-game slider to go all the way up to an 11-letter word. You still get six chances to guess no matter how long a word is, though.

Before you play Lewdle, the game’s content advisory reads, “Lewdle is a game about rude words. If you’re likely to be offended by the use of profanity, vulgarity or obscenity, go play Wordle instead!” Translation: It’s Wordle, but with bad words. The words range from mild — like poopy — to words that would make a sailor blush. However, despite the numerous bad words the game pulls from, slurs are not included. Like Wordle, you get six tries to guess a five-letter word; gray, yellow and green blocks are used in the same way; and there’s only one puzzle per day. Go forth and let the bad words flow! You can play Lewdle on any web browser.

Absurdle bills itself as the “adversarial version” of Wordle. While Wordle nudges you in the right direction with each guess, Absurdle “is actively trying to avoid giving you the answer,” according to the game’s website. Absurdle doesn’t pick a word at the beginning of the game for the player to guess. Instead it uses the player’s guesses to narrow its list of words down in an effort to make the game go as long as possible. The final word might not even include a yellow letter from one of your earlier guesses either. You can guess as many times as you want, which is helpful, and the best score you can get is four guesses. Have fun! You can play Absurdle on any web browser.

Sure, Wordle is fun, but what if there was a crossword element to it? Enter Crosswordle. In this Wordle-inspired game, you have to figure out two words of varying lengths that intersect with each other like a crossword puzzle. The gray, yellow and green color blocks are the same, and there’s one puzzle a day. However, it looks like you can guess as many times as you want until you either get the words or give up. Unlike other Wordle-based games, Crosswordle lets you create your own custom Crosswordle puzzle to share with your friends. Here’s one I made. If Crosswordle wasn’t hard enough, the Settings page shows the developers are working on a Hard Mode.

Forget words and letters: Nerdle (opens in new tab) is for number lovers. You’re trying to guess a new calculation each day, using numbers and operations. Wordle still rules apply: Any number or operation that appears in the correct place is green, magenta means it’s in the puzzle but in the wrong spot, and black if it doesn’t appear at all. Also, as with Wordle, it’s not just about doing math but using clues. For instance, the = appearing in the 7th slot means the answer is only a single digit, which is a big help narrowing the answer down. I am truly rotten at math but cracking a calculation in Needle is still pretty darn satisfying.

Wordle gives you six tries to guess a single word, but Quordle (opens in new tab) gives you nine tries to guess four words. Each guess you make appears in all four puzzles, so focusing on a single word means you’re still burning through your guesses in the other puzzles. It’s definitely tricky, but if you love Wordle this gives you a bigger and more challenging dose of the same daily gameplay.

Starting with a single frame from a movie, guess which film it is. If you’re wrong, you get another frame, and you have six guesses total. Framed (opens in new tab) is Wordle but for film buffs—and refreshingly it’s one of the rare Wordle-like games that bucks the trend of adding ‘le’ somewhere in its name. An autocomplete feature means as long as you know some of the film’s title you can still win.

Waffle (opens in new tab) gives you a grid with all the letters already in it, though most are in the wrong place. You’re trying to solve six different words: three across and three down. And rather than typing letters, you drag-and-drop them. Green letters are already in the correct spots, and yellow are part of the word but in the incorrect spot (though at an intersection yellow could mean it’s in the correct row or column). It’s sort of like you’re putting together a tiny crossword puzzle with a pool of letters. And there are different degrees of winning: You have a total of 15 swaps, but every Waffle can be solved in just 10. So, before you drag a letter somewhere else, try to make sure it’s an optimal move and the letter you’re swapping for will also wind up in the right place.

Are there any games like Wordle?

If you love Wordle and want a puzzle game that takes more brain power, you’ll want to check out Quordle, Octordle, Dordle and Sedecordle. Each of these four word games look very similar to Wordle, but add more rows, columns and words to solve. Dordle requires you to solve two words at once.

What game is like Wordle but with numbers?

Numbrd is like Wordle but instead of guessing a word, you try to figure out a maths equation. The equation has to make sense, so you can’t put in 02+15=87 in a bid to use up more numbers. A pair of brothers from Cork, Mark and Alan Hamilton, launched the game last week.

What type of game is Wordle

Wordle is simple: You have six chances to guess the day’s secret five-letter word. Type in a word as a guess, and the game tells you which letters are or aren’t in the word. The aim is to figure out the secret word with the fewest guesses.

Is Wordle once a day?

Wordle is a daily word game you can find online here. It’s fun, simple and, like a crossword, can only be played once a day. Every 24 hours there’s a new word of the day, and it’s up to you to figure out what it is.
