What is Quordle? How do you play Quordle, a game harder than Wordle?

Quordle may have been inspired by the viral puzzle Wordle that continues to fill Twitter feeds with yellow and green squares, but it’s no one-trick pony.

Unlike its predecessor, which is played by millions of people daily, Quordle is a spin-off of Wordle for those who want to challenge their linguistic skills at another level.

What is Quordle? And how is different from Wordle?

Quordle is Wordle quadrupled. The principles of the game remain the same – players guess five-letter words each day and the game indicates if you have the right letters in the right spaces using green, yellow and grey squares.

‘However, players have to guess four five-letter words at the same time in order to win at Quordle. You get more goes at guessing the four words compared to Wordle, which gives players six guesses. This game gives you nine goes to solve all four words, with each guess appearing in all four fields.

Quordle also differs from its predecessor like Wordle by giving players two gameplay options. The first is Daily Quordle, which, just like Wordle, only gives you one chance to compete each day.

But you also have the option to practice playing Quordle if you select the “Practice” button at the top of the game, which lets you play an unlimited number of practice games. However, the results of practice games do not count in a player’s streak.

Who made Quordle?

A group of Wordle fans developed Quordle, after they started playing yet another Worlde spin-off, Dordle. Dordle is a version that lets plays guess two five-letter words at the same time.

On the Quordle website, creator Freddie Meyer said engineer David Mah put together the first prototype of the game “in a moment of evil and genius”.

Meyer said: “It was truly horrific code (it even had two keyboards) but I knew that I had to continue thie madness. With hindsight, he really baited me into finishing his monstrous creation.”

He also credits another person named Guilherme S Tows with Quordle’s creation. Meyer says the game now has more than 500,000 players daily and has had more than a million total players.

Think Wordle is too easy? Quordle gives you four daily puzzles to solve at the same time

If Wordle doesn’t offer a strong enough challenge, try solving four Wordle puzzles at the same time. The latest twist on the Wordle phenomenon: Quordle, a daily word puzzle game where you have to correctly guess four words. Seems easy, right? The difference is you have to solve all four puzzles at once before you run out of guesses.

If you love Wordle, then you know you get six chances to correctly guess a five-letter word, which changes each day. With every guess, the letters change color to show how close you are to the answer.

In Quordle, you get four separate five-letter word puzzles stacked together. Each guess will appear in all four puzzles at the same time. Players get nine guesses to solve all four puzzles.

Just like Wordle, letters change color depending on your guess. Green letters are in the word and the right spot. Yellow letters are in the word but the wrong place, and gray letters are not in the word.

Wordle surged in popularity this year, as players flocked to social media sites to share the results of their daily adventure solving the puzzle. The game became so popular it was acquired by The New York Times, which said the game will initially remain free.

It has also spawned several similar games. The most recent example is Worldle, a geography-inspired version of Wordle where players must correctly guess a country or region in six tries.

Who runs wordle2?

Steven Cravotta is the lone creator of “Wordle!” — no, not that one. Six years ago, the self-taught developer built a word-based puzzle app for fun. Cravotta, who was 18 at the time, originally thought the project was a bust; its average daily download rate was in the single digits.
