Defeating Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon boss in Elden Ring:

First Phase:

• Rennala will summon waves of sorceries and spells at you from a distance.

• Stay mobile and dodge roll through the projectiles. Move in a zig-zag pattern to avoid getting hit.

• When she summons the blue seeking orbs, block with your shield or roll through them.

• If you get a chance, move in close and attack her directly to do high damage. But be ready to dodge spell combos.

• Her summons like skeletons and crabs can be ignored for the most part. Focus on avoiding her magic.

Second Phase:

• Rennala transforms into a beast and gains new magic attacks.

• Avoid the giant meteors that fall from the sky. Listen for the sound cue and then dodge roll away.

• Avoid standing in the large circle AoE sprays of magic. Run out before they activate.

• The seeker orbs home in on you more aggressively in this phase. Dodge roll through them quickly.

• When she dives into the ground, she will emerge in one of 4 locations. Choose a corner and wait for her.

• Once she reappears, wail on her with heavy attacks. She’s vulnerable for a brief time after emerging.

• Continue dodging spells, avoiding AoEs and attacking during openings.

Tips:

• Use a shield with high magic block or high immunity armor.

• Increase damage resistance against magic and frostbite buildup.

• Use summons to draw aggro and get her to do spells you can avoid.

• High mobility weapons allow you to dodge spells and counter attack quickly.

• Use your spirit ashes to engage her summons and distract her.

With enough vigilance, dodging and well-timed attacks during openings, you’ll wear Rennala down and emerge victorious.
