LoL Patch Schedule 2022: Skins To Be Released In Patch 12.5

The 2022 League of Legends patch schedule has been released. When will the patches go live in Season 12?

LoL Patch Schedule 2022

Are you a League of Legends enthusiast? Do you want to finally get out of the hellfire that is Gold I? Well, then you’ll probably have a lot to read up on. Not only are there multiple pre-season changes, but Riot also releases patches quite often throughout the season.

So, to make it all easier on you, we’ve decided to list all the patches and the LoL patch schedule right here, so you know when to expect which changes to hit the rift. No matter if you’re in Europe, Vietnam or North America, these changes are global, so it’s important to keep up!

What Is The Current LoL Patch?

Currently, we are on LoL Patch 12.4. This patch sees the introduction of none other than the Chem-Baroness herself, Renata Glasc. She struts her way onto the Rift, and we can’t be more hyped than we already are.

Of course, there are quite a lot of updates to champions as well, with Zeri getting all her abilities overlooked once more this patch. She has been a menace in the bot lane, and hopefully these nerfs will align her with the rest of the bot lane cast.

Finally, we have to address the enchanter in the room. Riot has put a band-aid over the Janna top meta, but was it enough in the long run?

How Often Are Patches Released?

Patches are usually released every two weeks. This gives players time to enjoy their favorite champions before Riot deems them too strong and nerfs them out of existence. The two-week patch plan ensures that players are able to get the most out of their champions and Riot Games can continuously work on champion balance and system balance changes.

Does it always feel balanced? Hell no, but with over 157 champions, 6 Dragons and too many items to name, it’s a pretty big feat to have everything balanced.

So sorry Susann, Fiora’s damage isn’t getting a nerf, just because you don’t know how to counter her.

Why Are There Patch Updates Every 2 Weeks?

Well, when we said that patch updates are every two weeks we weren’t completely truthful. Some patches also last 3 weeks. This is often due to holidays or other events where Riot gives their balance team a break from all the salty comments they get from the community, or when bigger changes were implemented and the team needs more data to see how to balance these changes next patch – like before the 2021 World Championship or during pre-season.

Patches are updated (almost always) every two weeks, due to the sheer magnitude of balance issues. By patching every two weeks Riot Games is able to quickly make adjustments whenever needed. This way the balance team can keep the game fresh and not feel overly repetitive.

Before a patch goes live, players get to test all the upcoming changes, as well as upcoming skins and other system changes on the PBE server. Through this data, the balance team can make a few more adjustments accordingly before shipping any patch.

Does this stop any and all bugs from landing in the patch notes and in your games? Hardly, League isn’t perfect, but the continuous change keeps the game interesting. How else did League manage to become 12 years old already?

Skins To Be Released In Patch 12.5

Of course, as always, we’ve got to talk about the upcoming skins in Patch 12.5 as well. We already know that we will be getting more bee skins! There can never be too many bee skins in League of Legends. But which champions will get new skins?

  • BZZZigs
  • Heimerstinger
  • Orbeeanna
  • Nunu & Beelump
Elise Getting A Visual Update In LoL Patch 12.5

Riot Games are really getting ahead of themselves with those visual updates. Fire in the hole, not only for Vayne or Vel’Koz but also Elise, apparently. That is a piece of work, as Elise is one of the shapeshifting champions in League of Legends. Twice the fun, heh?

Elise was released some ten years ago, so Riot choosing to visually update her abilities seems like kind of an overdue decision. Riot will visually overhaul her kit, including Cocoon, Rappel, Neurotoxin and Volatile Spiderling. Especially her E (Cocoon) will have a much clearer hitbox by LoL Patch 12.5 and will be more colorful than before.

Not only her abilities, but also most of her skins are getting visually updated. These are the included skins:

  • Super Galaxy Elise (minor tweaks)
  • SKT T1 Elise
  • Blood Moon Elise
  • Victorious Elise
  • Death Blossom Elise
  • Base skin

With her base skin being part of the update as well, the auto-attacks are also made more colorful and easier to spot. I don’t know about you, but I had trouble playing against Elise in the past, because some of her abilities were not that easy to spot. Her kit really needs those updates.

What time is the next LoL patch?

The 12.2 update will arrive in League of Legends on Wednesday 19th January 2021. Here’s roughly when you can expect the update to roll out: 3 am PT (NA servers) 5 am GMT (EUW servers).

How often is there a league patch?

How often does Riot release Patches for League of Legends? Riot usually releases patches every two weeks as this gives players enough time to experience and enjoy their favorite Champions.

What day of the week do League patches come out?

Then Riot will tweak these buffs and nerfs over the following two weeks, before shipping them live every second Tuesday throughout the year. Here are all the LoL patch dates: 12.1 – Tuesday, January 4, 2022 (patch notes) 12.2 – Wednesday, January 19, 2022 (patch notes).

How long do League of Legends patches take?

To download the launcher it should take you around–5min with a 100mbps connection. Once this is done LoL will patch up. This could take up to 30min-1hour again depending on your connection. Hope it helps.
