What is Machine Pistol? How to get the Machine Pistol in Fortnite?

Epic Games have brought the Machine Pistol back in Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1, and here’s everything you need to know about how to get your hands on this weapon.

What is Fortnite Machine Pistol?

The Machine Pistol was an SMG that appeared in Battle Royale. It was available in Common, Uncommon, and Rare variants. It used Light Bullets.

The Machine Pistol was Vaulted in Patch 2.5.0, therefore making it currently unavailable. It was vaulted because it was barely used by people with its low damage.

The weapon’s code has been reused for the SMGs and then deleted, however, in Patch 10.00, new Machine Pistol files have appeared in the game files, hinting at it’s plausible return. The Common version of the new Machine Pistol was temporarily available in the Solid Gold LTM with the launch of Season X. It was replaced with the Legendary Compact SMG shortly after, as was intended.

The Machine Pistol has been featured in a Creative Featured Island News page on July 21st, 2020. This may hint towards the return/addition of the Machine Pistol.

The Machine Pistol made a brief appearance in the Unvaulted Game Mode with Patch 15.40 for a few hours after the Game Mode returned. However like how it was in Season X, it was quickly removed.

Trivia

  • The Machine Pistol is heavily inspired by the TEC-9 Machine Pistol, and it also bears some minor similarities with the Tactical Submachine Gun and the Rapid Fire SMG.
  • The UZI version of the Machine Pistol strangely seems to have a slightly clear barrel.
  • It was the second item to ever be vaulted, following the Zapatron.
At the time of it’s vaulting, the Rare Machine Pistol had a DPS of 240, the highest in the game, as it shot 15 bullets per second.
  • The reason why the Machine Pistol was vaulted was probably to free up space, because it was barely used, or because it was too similar to the
  • Tactical Submachine Gun and was rarely used.
  • The new version of the Machine Pistol appeared on the side of the daily assignments board with the launch of Chapter 2: Season 2, but was later removed in 12.10 and replaced with the standard Submachine Gun. The reason behind this is unknown.
  • Its possible that this weapon was replaced by the Rapid Fire SMG.
  • This is evident from the fire rate and it’s reload time.
  • This weapon was leaked for 30 minutes at the beginning of Season X.

How to get the Machine Pistol in Fortnite

Fortnite’s Machine Pistol can be found in Floor Loot, Chests, and Supply Drops, so you can quickly get one after hopping out of the Battle Bus and also acquire it from fishing and Sharks.

The weapon has been enabled in all rarities after the arrival of the v19.20 February 8 Hotfix for Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1, so you can collect different variants of it by exploring the Island for a short while.

This weapon is ideal for close-combat situations as it can deal up to 19 damage to enemies, and you can use it over longer ranges as well by firing at shorter bursts to maintain your accuracy during combat.

The Fortnite Machine Pistol also boasts an extended magazine size for slightly more sustained fire, so you’ll be able to shoot your opponents continuously without having to worry about reloading too often.

So, if you’re looking for a great weapon with an impressive rate of fire and damage that’s reliable at any range, then it’s worth getting yourself a Machine Pistol the next time you hop into a match.

Fortnite Machine Pistol Arrives In New Patch

The Fortnite February 8 patch is now live, and though it’s a short one, it packs a good punch. The update brings the Machine Pistol back to Fortnite, which will immediately compete for space for your loadout–if you like its abilities, that is. Here’s what you need to know about the returning fan-favorite weapon.

The Fortnite Machine Pistol is back for the first time in years. It was just the second gun in Fortnite to ever be vaulted–after the storied Zapatron disappeared permanently–but today, it’s finally back after some teases and knockoffs, like the Makeshift SMG in Chapter 2, Season 6.

The Machine Pistol is deadliest up close, with a high firing rate and extended magazine. It’s also said to be effective at longer range too, provided you wield it responsibly with shorter bursts of fire. The gun is now available and can be found in all manner of loot drops, including normal chests, rare chests, supply drops, or even as basic floor loot. You can also find it while fishing or from a defeated shark.

The Machine Pistol can be found in all five standard rarities. Here’s what to expect for stats, including a range for damage and reload time, which improves with the rarity of your gun:

Damage: 15-19
Magazine size: 35
Fire rate: 13.5
Reload time: 2.475-2.025
The Machine Pistol likely joins the Stinger SMG as the most popular close-range guns in Season 1 of Chapter 3, seeing as how many players find shotguns to be underpowered this season. This change seems to have been intentionally made by Epic, as the developer has not buffed the weapons despite the shift in the game’s meta.

Are Uzis in Fortnite?

The Machine Pistol and its variants are based on the Mini Uzi. When Season 10 was released, Epic Games accidentally added the pistol to Battle Royale in the Solid Gold LTM, like the Storm Scout Sniper Rifle.

How long was the Machine Pistol in Fortnite?

The Machine Pistol in the Unvaulted LTM has a damage rating of 17 and a 14 fire rate. It also sports a magazine size of 32, and a reload time of 2.2 seconds.

What was the first weapon in Fortnite?

The Bolt-Action Sniper rifle was one of the first weapons in Fortnite Battle Royale, and snipers became comfortable with the weapon. Epic took it away in exchange for the Silenced Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle.
