Crocodile Dundee Star Just Pass Away?

The legendary crocodile Burt, who starred in the iconic 1986 movie Crocodile Dundee, has died in Australia, marking the end of an era.

Burt, a renowned saltwater crocodile known for his role alongside Paul Hogan and Linda Kozlowski, was over 90 years old. He lived his final years at Crocosaurus Cove in Darwin, where his passing was announced on social media.

“Burt’s life story is one of strength and resilience,” said Crocosaurus Cove in an Instagram tribute, adding that he died peacefully over the weekend. Burt’s appearance in Crocodile Dundee helped cement Australia’s image as a land of rugged wilderness and fascinating wildlife.

Captured in the 1980s, Burt later became a symbol of crocodile conservation and education. Despite his fame, Burt was known for his fiery and independent nature, which earned him the respect of caretakers and visitors alike.

In Crocodile Dundee, Burt was featured in a memorable scene where Paul Hogan’s character, Mick Dundee, saves Linda Kozlowski’s character from a creekside crocodile attack. The scene remains one of the most iconic moments of the film.

Crocosaurus Cove plans to honor Burt with a commemorative sign celebrating his incredible legacy.
