Machine Gun Kelly’s Country Arc Joins Jelly Roll for a John Denver Classic

Although country music welcomed stars like Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, and Hardy, it appears the genre is a hotbed for more than just lovers of country.
With Beyonce dropping her debut country album, Cowboy Carter, the genre suddenly caught the eye of singers like Post Malone, who is weeks away from releasing his debut country album, F-1 Trillion. With Beyonce and Malone entering the genre with excitement from fans, it seems that Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) might be the next performer in line to dabble in country music.
And there is no better way to break into the genre than with Jelly Roll by your side.

Machine Gun Kelly and Jelly Roll Reimagine John Denver’s “Country Roads” for New Single: Stream

According to a recent post by Jelly Roll, “Lonely Road” has been in the works for two years, and was made across “eight different studios, four different countries.” Now, it’s arrived alongside a Sam Cahill-directed music video starring the two artists and their significant others, Megan Fox and Bunnie Xo, depicting mgk as a mechanic turned bank robber. Watch the video below.

Now, I’ll say it’s loosely ‘country.’ The new song ‘Lonely Road’ has country, hip hop and alternative vibes. It uses the John Denver classic ‘Take Me Home Country Roads’ for it’s basic harmony and then expands on that theme. I’m absolutely loving this song. I think this could be a dark horse for song of the summer. Check it out and let me know what you think!

The video then switches to footage of the couple standing by a lake with Fox appearing to have a baby bump as MGK skims a stone across the water.

Jelly Roll, 39, is then seen arriving home to find an upset Bunnie Xo reading a letter titled, “Infertility diagnosis and management” and comforting her. Last month, Jelly Roll revealed that he and his wife, 44, are undergoing IVF.
