Dual Roles in “The Alto Knights”
Robert De Niro showcases his range in the upcoming film “The Alto Knights,” taking on two characters: Frank Costello and Vito Genovese, two of New York’s most notorious organized crime bosses. In the official trailer, released Tuesday and directed by Barry Levinson, De Niro appears first as Genovese, entering a dimly lit restaurant to meet Costello (also portrayed by De Niro). The two men discuss the “dangerous roads” ahead, which the trailer illustrates through a sequence of tense and sometimes violent clips.

The Alto Knights – Plot, Cast, and Release Details
According to the film’s synopsis, “The Alto Knights” follows Costello and Genovese as they battle for control of New York’s streets. Once close friends, their relationship dissolves over jealousy and betrayal, propelling them toward a confrontation that will reshape the Mafia—and America—forever.

In addition to Robert De Niro, the star-studded cast features Debra Messing, Cosmo Jarvis, Kathrine Narducci, Michael Rispoli, Michael Adler, Ed Amatrudo, Joe Bacino, Anthony J. Gallo, Wallace Langham, Louis Mustillo, Frank Piccirillo, Matt Servitto, and Robert Uricola. “The Alto Knights” debuts in theaters nationwide on March 21 and begins its international release on March 19.
