Jacobson died on December 8, 2024, at the age of 70, at the Cedars-Sinai Culver West Health Center in Los Angeles, California, after a long battle with illness. The news was confirmed by her publicist and close friend, Daniel Harary, as well as her manager, Ben Padua.
A Brilliant Career
Jacobson’s acting career spanned over four decades, during which she earned a reputation for her remarkable comedic timing and versatile performances. Her first notable role came in 1977 with the title role in Nurse Sherri, a low-budget slasher horror film. However, it was her role in Star Trek: The Next Generation that solidified her place in the hearts of science fiction fans. She also made memorable appearances on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Days of Our Lives, Castle, Hung, Newhart, and Who’s the Boss?.
Her role as Erin Jones on Falcon Crest was one of her most beloved, with Jacobson appearing in over 20 episodes of the show across its nine seasons. She also brought her charm to The New Gidget, portraying Larue Wilson in eight episodes.
