The DJ, 46, revealed that he was currently tripping on LSD to shocked co-hosts Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper.
Meanwhile, Cohen and ‘New Year’s Eve Live’ co-host Anderson Cooper were doing shots of tequila.
In a video posted by Pop Crave on X (formerly Twitter), Cohen, 56, asked Diplo as he appeared on the special by video transmission, “What’s the most conventional place that you’ve done LSD?” Diplo responded, “Right now.”
“I’m so curious. What’s the most conventional place that you’ve done LSD?” Cohen, 56, asked Diplo, to which the DJ replied, laughing: “Right now.”
“Right now?” Cohen exclaimed as Cooper, 57, burst out laughing.
“Yeah, I did some on the helicopter, on the way here,” replied Diplo as Cooper keeled over in more fits of giggles. “I’m not even lying,” he added.
Clearly in shock, the Bravo executive producer clarified, “You’re tripping right now?”
“Yeah,” the music producer nonchalantly responded.
Diplo, whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz, explained that it was “a light trip” because he had been “microdosing” the psychedelic drug, though he “might have macrodosed earlier” in the day.
In a May 2023 interview with Esquire, Diplo explained that he frequently uses the drug, a hallucinogenic also known as acid that intensifies emotions, thoughts and sensory perception.
