Director James Gunn brings the Man of Steel back to the big screen for his rebooted DC movie universe. As Superman prepares to leap buildings in a single bound during its theatrical run this summer, a new preview from the first DC Universe movie offers a new look at the Man of Steel. A fresh still from the upcoming superhero blockbuster sees David Corenswet suited up in the streets as the famous caped crusader.

Last month saw Gunn say how incredible his Man of Steel actor is:
“Honestly, from the bottom of my heart, David Corenswet is going to freak everyone out with how great he is. He is one of the best actors I’ve ever worked with, and he can do everything. The man is incredible.”

Superman opens in theaters across North America on Jul. 11.
The first Superman trailer, released last December, earned 50 million views for DC in less than two weeks, further ramping up anticipation. DC fans hope for a good take on the eponymous hero following mixed reviews during the DC Extended Universe era when Henry Cavill was suited up in the lead role for Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. An early Superman screening also earned good reviews, including favorable comparisons to a Marvel trilogy.

‘Superman’: New Image Of David Corenswet Suited Up As The Man Of Steel
Corenswet steps into the role of Superman, taking over from Henry Cavill, who portrayed the character in Zack Snyder’s DC Extended Universe. Rachel Brosnahan joins him as Lois Lane, alongside a star-studded cast that includes Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor and Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific. James Gunn, known for his distinct blend of humor and emotion in superhero projects like Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad, writes and directs the film.
