Elton John, the legendary musician whose hits have defined generations, recently opened up about his favorite songs from his iconic discography—and revealed one chart-topping tune he’d rather forget. Appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the 77-year-old reflected on his career and his music.
Pressed to name his top five tracks, Elton highlighted “Someone Saved My Life Tonight”, “We All Fall in Love Sometimes”, and “Curtains” from the Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy album. He also gave a nod to his breakthrough hit “Your Song” from 1970 and the heartfelt “Blessed” from 1995’s Made in England.
However, Elton was clear about which song won’t make his favorites list: “Crocodile Rock”. The star bluntly quipped, “Not f—ing Crocodile Rock. I know that.”
The interview also touched on Elton’s future plans. Following the conclusion of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour in 2023, Elton confirmed that new music is on the way. “The juices have never dried up,” he said, emphasizing his continued passion for creativity and his excitement to work at his own pace.
The candid conversation came as Elton promoted his documentary, Elton John: Never Too Late, offering fans a look into his extraordinary life and legacy.
